Tena Walde, born on December 17, 1918 in Siberia, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on May 12, 2006 after a brief illness, at the age of 87.
She is lovingly remembered by her family daughter Doris (Walt) Wiebe, son Rudy (De Vee) Walde, grandchildren Janice (Dave) Fast, Shelly (Gordon) Bartel; Sherry (Phil) Neetz, Brent (Kendee) Walde, great-grandchildren Garrison, Sarah, Nathan, Nicole, Krista, Julia; Christopher, Ryan and Joree. She will also be missed by her sisters Annie (Abe) Reimer and Mary Mantler.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Walde, of 65 years, her brother Cork Harder and great granddaughter Katie Marie Bartel.
Tena’s faith and family were most important to her. She was a lady of many talents. She was well organized, she had a quiet calming spirit and she had a strong independence about her. Tena was a beautiful seamstress, earlier teaching sewing classes in Chilliwack. Throughout the years Tena and Peter also enjoyed their many travels. She loved to bake and cook. The cookies that “Gramma” made will be missed greatly.
A memorial service will be held at Broadway Church, 46611 Maple Ave, Chilliwack at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wilf Richert officiating. A reception will follow the service.
