Sue FRIESEN

August 1, 2005

Sue Friesen (nee Janzen), late of Sardis, B.C. passed away peacefully August 1, 2005 in Chilliwack at the age of 81 years.

She was born January 23, 1924 in Russia, and had lived in this area for over 60 years.

Sue was very involved in her church activities, especially Mission Helpers, quilting, and choir. After retirement, she enjoyed travelling with Dad to the Caribbean, Alaska, Eastern Canada, and most often Hawaii. These travels resulted in an extensive souvenir spoon collection.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday August the 6th at the Greendale Cemetery. The Casket bearers are Don Friesen, Shirley Greenwood, John Janzen, Ed Friesen, Matt Doersam, Arlene Doersam, Al Neufeld, and Art Friesen. A memorial service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Greendale First Mennonite Church. Pastor George Hoeppner officiating.

Sue is survived by her daughter Shirley Greenwood of Toronto; her son Don Friesen and his wife Debbie, and their children Jeff and Leanne from Prince George; as well as her daughter Arlene Doersam and her husband Bob, and their children Matt and Kimberley of Vancouver.

Sue leaves behind her remaining siblings Anne, Helen and John and their families together with the entire Friesen side of her family. She also leaves to mourn many caring and life-long friends.

Although we all knew that Mom was gravely ill, her sudden passing leaves us all with an empty space in our hearts.

Sue was predeceased by her husband, Henry, in 2001 after 53 years of marriage, son-in-law James Greenwood, and brothers Ike and Hank.

If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
