On December 21, 2010, surrounded by all whom she loved, Stella was ushered into the presence of her dear Lord and Saviour at the age of 66. She is pre-deceased by her son-in-law, Steven, and survived by her loving husband fpr 47 years, John, her daughters, Dawn (Stefano), Jenny, Kimberley (Jason), and Melanie (Robert) and her son, John Jr. (Kerianne), her twin brother, Roy, as well as 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Stella Wells was born on December 16, 1944 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and grew up in Bonavista. She moved to Montreal in 1962, where she met the love of her life, John Kirklevy and they were married on Feb. 16, 1963.
Following her husband to Marathon, Ontario in 1976 with five children in tow, Stella was not only a full-time mother, but assisted John in planting the first Pentecostal church in that town. It was in 1979 that the family made their final move to Chilliwack, BC. Stella continued to raise the children and also became a long-term care aide for 21 years. Upon retiring, Stella was able to devote more time to her favourite hobbies, quilting and gardening.
Stella had a deep and unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ. She worshipped God as she lived her life, with vibrancy and boldness. Nearing the end of her life, Stella showed remarkable courage and looked forward expectantly to “going home.” Typically, her only concern was for the well-being of her loved ones in her absence.
A faithful wife, adoring mother, loving sister and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be deeply missed.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 pm from Woodlawn-Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack. Private burial arrangements. A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 1:00 pm from First Ave. Christian Assembly Church, 46510 First Ave,. Chilliwack. Reception to follow.
