Shirley Ann Carol Thomson passed away in Chilliwack on October 25, 2008 at age 68 surrounded by family and close friends.

She was born on January 20, 1940 in Broadview, Saskatchewan and spent most of her life in Chilliwack where she married and had four sons.

She is survived by her children: John, William, Neil and Andy; special friends Ken and Diane Lefevre and the Lefevre family; sister Vivian; brothers: Robert, Donald and Rick all of Chilliwack; brother Ken of Edmonton; and sister Patricia of Kelowna.

She was pre-deceased by her infant daughter; husband Neil “Scotty” Thomson; father Philip Neuls; mother Lydia Neuls; step-mother Hertha Neuls; sister June Shingler and brother Fred Neuls.

Shirley enjoyed being a homemaker and was known for her baking, canning and preserves. Her greatest joys were her children and spending time with the Lefevre family. She will be fondly remembered by her sons as a loyal and supportive hockey mom who was always at the rink cheering them on during their many years of playing hockey.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salvation Army Community Church. Should friends and family so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army.
