nee Leon

It is with great sadness but with a celebration of life that we announce the passing of Sharon Diane Peterson. Sharon went to her eternal home on September 12, 2010.

Daughter, sister, wife, devoted mother, proud Namma, Sharon was a beautiful and spirited woman whose bright light shone with an over abundance of love in her heart and a caring maternal soul.

Born in Lummie, Washington she was just a baby when her mother (Doreen Leon) moved back to her home in Chehalis, BC. It was there that she grew up and took care of her three bothers and five sisters.

Sharon graduated from Mission Senior Secondary and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Mark Johnson. Together they had three beautiful sons, Scott, Chad and Todd. When they went their separate ways Sharon, with her youngest son Todd, moved to Vancouver Island. Scott and Chad remained with their father.

While living in Nanaimo with her sister Shirley Leon, Sharon met Daniel Marceau. Together, Sharon and Dan had a beautiful daughter Danielle. Soon after, the couple moved to Chilliwack, BC. During their 20 years together they raised a family and were blessed with grandchildren.

After they separated, and while working at Chilliwack London Drugs, Sharon met David Peterson. They moved back to David’s family homestead in Blackfalds, Alberta. Ever the devoted employee, Sharon worked in the London Drugs in Red Deer, Alberta. In 2008, Sharon and Dave were married and lived lovingly until her final hour.

The far reach of Sharon’s caring and gentle nature extended deep into the communities and touched many people’s lives. Her unwavering love and commitment to her family is a shining example for others to admire and follow.

Sharon was a hard worker, strong daughter, loving sister, dedicated mother, wife and friend. Her absence leaves behind a place in our hearts that may ache with loss now but is filled with a life that is irreplaceable. She will be dearly missed by everyone who had the honour and privilege of knowing her.

Many heartfelt prayers and thanks go out to her husband David for loving and cherishing Sharon and providing services for her in Alberta. Our deepest sympathies and condolences for the loss of a devoted and loving wife.

There are not enough words to express our thanks for the most amazing love and support of family and friends in Chehalis and surrounding communities. Gratitude and blessings to everyone for the work done to lay her to rest with her family who have travelled before her.

Sharon is survived by her husband David Peterson; son, Scott Johnson (Sandra Xavier Kennedy); Chad Johnson (Nikky Alivia); Todd Johnson (Heidi, Randy); brothers and sisters Dennis Leon, Shirley Leon, George Pennier, Greg Pennier, Betty Ann Pennier, Beatrice Pennier, Jeanette Burdeniuk (Tubbs), Annette Dalley (Tubbs).

Prayers were held at 7:00pm on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2010 at Sts’ailes Lhawathet Lalem in Chehalis.

Services were held at 10:00 am on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 at Sts’ailes, Lhawathet, Chehalis, BC.

We are all blessed to have had you in our lives no matter how brief the moment. It is with much love that we let go into the embrace of the creator.
