Sarah "Sadie” Myers McLeod left this world on Feb. 14, 2009, and is now reunited with her family and loved ones once again.

Born in Coatbridge, Scotland on Aug. 15, 1921. Her family soon thereafter immigrated to Canada and set up residence in Vernon, B.C. Sadie married in 1941, and moved to Chilliwack in 1946, with her husband Owen, and two sons, Brian and Robert.

They found a nice little home close to her work, and remained in that same home until October of 2008.

Sadie worked as a dietician for the Chilliwack General Hospital for 25 years. When she retired in 1981 she spent many memorable moments traveling to Reno and to Nashville for the Grand ole Opry with her friends.

A strong and determined spirit, who always spoke her mind and gave selflessly to those in need. She was a funny, witty woman who enjoyed spending time with her pets, gardening and people watching. Truly a strong, remarkable woman – one who deserved more out of life than she received.

Sadie is survived by her brother, Bill (Olive) Clayton, along with her grandchildren Shawn, Andrea, and Tara.

She is predeceased by her husband, Owen; her sons Brian and Robert, and her brothers, Robert and John.

The McLeod family would like to say a big thank you to Dr. Graham along with the entire staff of Cascade Lodge for their excellent job in making Grandma’s transition a comfortable one – Thank you.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. at www.heartandstroke.bc.ca
