(Sarah) Joyce Peters passed away on Monday, January 28, 2008 at Chilliwack General Hospital at age 90 years. She was born January 18, 1918 in Brightholm, SK.
Joy is survived by her son Dale (Viviana); daughter, Veda; grandchildren: Nicole (Scott) Puttee, and Adam Peters; great-grandchildren: Lauren, Madison, Reid, and Alex Puttee.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Jacob Peters and a grandson, Trent Peters.
Born and raised on a Saskatchewan farm, she raised her family in northern Manitoba, retired to southern Alberta and moved to BC in 1998.
Joy was active in the Presbyterian Church and Women’s Missionary Society. Quilting at Eden and volunteering with Red Cross were her passions after moving to Chilliwack.
A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, January 31, 2008 from Cooke’s Presbyterian Church, with Rev. W. van de Wall officiating. Memorial donations in Joy’s memory may be made to the British Columbia Lung Association.
