Ruth Pauline WESTON (Love)

April 9, 2003

Ruth passed away on April 9, 2003 to join her beloved Tommie. She was 79 years of age. She was born in Chaplin, Sask., but moved to Chilliwack with her parents at a very early age.

After growing up and raising her own family in Chilliwack, Ruth left for a few years, only to return to the house she originally came to Chilliwack to live in, just two doors away from her parents.

She was predeased by her husband Tom Love, at age 36; brother Glenn Hoskins; and mother and father, Paulin and Alf Hoskins.

Ruth is survived by her son Fred (Linda); daughters, Dorothy (John), Vivian, and Margaret; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her brother Don (Dawn).

With every adversity Ruth encountered, her zest for life and her faith in God always got her through. She was willing to lend a helping hand whenever possible. Ruth loved to sing whenever given the opportunity. Her children and especially her grandchildren will always have fond memories of summers at Cultus Lake, where she so enjoyed taking them swimming.

Ruth was a member of the Chilliwack United Church and choir, member of the Rebekah Lodge #4, Chilliwack Canadian legion, Heritage Singers, Brush and Palette Club, Naturalist Club and Square Dance Club. If Ruth was not pursuing one of her hobbies, you could find her enjoying her garden.

A very special ‘’thank you’’ to all the staff of Parkholm for the absolutely wonderful care and concern they gave to Ruth.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Chilliwack United Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, Apr. 17, 2003. A memorial tea by the Rebekahs and Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Chilliwack United Church will be held at the Oddfellows Hall, 46008 Reece Ave. directly after the service.

If friend so desire, donations may be made to the B.C. Seniors Coalition, or the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C.
