Rupert Samuel CROFT

August 29, 2007

Rupert - “Bright Shining One”

Samuel - “Asked of God”

Rupert Samuel Croft, born in Victoria, BC, August 25, 1993, passed away suddenly at his home August 29, 2007, after a two-year battle with epilepsy.

He is survived by his mother :Alison Lockhart (Dr. Tony Vickery); father: Daryl Croft (Julie Dargatz- Croft); sisters: Alexis and Neal Jennings, and Amy Croft; grandparents: Dr. John & Mrs. Lillian Croft and Mr. Alan & Mrs. Vivian Lockhart.

Rupert will also be greatly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, niece (Esme) and nephew (Roman), his many friends and teachers.

Rupert was a very kind, loving young man, who was loved by all who knew him. His quiet spirit added a very special grace to his life.

He loved animals, movies, board games, model cars, video games, paintball and he hoped to become a film director one day.

Rupert loved traveling to Disneyland, Las Vegas, and on other family trips; (roller coasters were always a highlight.)

He had a wonderful spirit and had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his heart. Rupert now assists the Lord in preparing a place in Heaven for his family.

We invite all who knew Rupert, to celebrate his life at St. Matthias Anglican Church, 600 Richmond Avenue, Victoria, BC, V8S 3Y7 where we will commend Rupert to the Lord Jesus on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.

Rupert recently attended his great aunt’s funeral and stated, “Black at funerals is so depressing, I hope people will wear bright colors if I pass away”. Tragically, this is now true and we request guests observe Rupert’s wishes.

In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations be sent in his memory to the Special Care Nursery at Victoria General Hospital where he spent his first week of life in the care of wonderful doctors and nurses. Donations can be mailed to the Victoria Hospital Foundation, H304, 633 Courtney Street, Victoria, BC V8W IB9, telephone 250-414-6688. Please specify donations for the Special Care Nursery.

Donations may also be directed to whichever charity or society touches your heart deeply, as Rupert has touched all of ours.

Reception to follow at the church.
