February 7, 1930 – June 16, 2007
Ruby was born in Dieppe, France, in 1930, to Suzanne (nee: Deschamps) and Lennard Batholomew. She grew up during the war years, splitting her time between England and France, settling in England. Ruby immigrated to Canada in 1975 and eventually made her way to Chilliwack.
Survived and dearly missed by her children Corinne Stevenson, Jasmine Collins (Rob), Bruno Gren (Kelly) and Carmalita Bond (David); grandchildren Claudine, Natasha, Amelia, Casseopia, Gareth, Kiaya, Nicholas, Sydney and David Jr; and great grandchildren Terrance and Lawrence.
Ruby passed away peacefully on June 16, 2007 at Vancouver General Hospital, aged 77.
Public viewing to take place at Henderson’s Funeral Home, June 20, 2007 from 3:00-5:00pm. No service by request. In lieu of flowers donations in Ruby’s memory may be made to the Sisters of the Sacred Heart Vancouver Mission.
