Royden Craig Hennessey passed away Friday, July 17, 2009, at age 37, after courageously fighting lymphoma for several years.
Born September 15, 1971 in St. John, New Brunswick, Roy was the youngest of six children. Predeceased by his father, Charles Donald Hennessey, Royden is survived by his mother, Betty Lee, four brothers (Charles, Robert, Walter, Shaun), and his sister Carol, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Royden was an inspiration to us all, and approached his illness with grace and dignity. He was passionate about music, friends, and family, and was constantly working on being a better person. Royden taught us to treat one another with kindness and without judgment, and was always the first person to offer help to anyone in need. He will be missed immensely.
On Royden’s behalf, the family would like to thank Dr. G. Enns, Dr. A. Richmond, the nursing staff of the CGH ambulatory care ward, Colleen Rush and the staff of the Chilliwack Hospice Society, Agent Smith of the VGH BMT unit, Chilliwack Red Cross, and the staff of the BC Cancer Society.
In accordance with Royden’s wishes, no public service will be held. In lieu of flowers, Royden requested that donations be made to the Chilliwack Hospice Society.
