We are sorry to announce that Roy passed away in the Chilliwack Hospital on January 28, 2008 after losing a battle against a heart attack, congestive heart failure and pneumonia.
Roy was born in Chilliwack on February 20, 1929. He spent his youth here and as a young man went to work as a logger with MacMillian Bloedel. He spent 35 years logging in the Queen Charlotte Islands after which he retired and has resided in Sardis. He enjoyed many winters at his winter home in Yuma, Arizona.
Rowy is survived by his brother Owen (Donna); and nephews: Brad and Jeff Nelmes; and niece: Mary-Ann (Clift). Also, nephews: David, Jim and Greg Nelmes and Jim and Len Dumont.
He was predeceased by his parents Hal and Louise Nelmes; sister: Marie Dumont; and brothers: Howard and David.
There will be no service by request. Interment in the Chilliwack Cemetery.
