Born in Chilliwack BC on February 2, 1920, and lived in the areas until June 2006; passed away peacefully on Oct 6, 2006 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital. Roy is survived by wife Helen, of 57 years, sons David and Morris and daughter Shirley (Garry) Bates; one brother Tom Jackson, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Roy served 4 1/2 years in the Canadian Army during WWII and then spent the majority of his life farming and logging. In his later years he joined the Atchelitz Threshermens Association where he could often be found operating the sawmill equipment. A memorial tea was be held Oct 21/06, from 1:00 - 4:00 at the Atchelitz Threshermens meeting hall at Heritage Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
