Rose TARMAR

October 8, 2002

Rose Tarmar passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002 at her home in Chilliwack, at the age of 65 years. She was born June 3, 1937 in Mikado, Sask.

Rose trained as an RN at Winnipeg Misericordia Hospital, where she nursed. Later, she journeyed to New York for a course in Midwifery, which she practiced at Winnipeg General Hospital. In 1966, she came to B.C. to work at Chilliwack General Hospital in the maternity ward, where she delivered many babies alone. In 1969, Rose became a member of Glad Tiding Fellowship. She and her husband Les worked together in the Mission Field - four trips to the Philippines, once to the Arctic and many times to California to participate in Gleanings for the Hungry. For several years, Rose and Les enjoyed skiing in Switzerland and Austria.

Rose is survived by her husband of 35 years, Leslie; two daughters, Anita (John) of Chilliwack, and Bronwen (Micky) of Hawaii; four grandchildren, Carla (Bill), Ken (Darlene), Sonja (Dean), and Rachel (Brad); seven great-grandchildren, Devan, Reece, Brianna, Carolyn, Joshua, Sarah, and Gabrielle; two brothers, Paul and Mike; and one sister Adeline.

She was predeceased by three sisters; and three brothers.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, from 8-9 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Chilliwack. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002 at 2 p.m. from Glad Tidings Church in Chilliwack; Pastors L. Lueck, T. Dixon, and D. Huebert officiating. Burial will follow at Chilliwack Cemeteries on Little Mountain.
