Rose-Anne Mary PARKER

Rose passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday April 13th, 2007 at the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 81 years. She was born on May 24th, 1925 in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. She is late of Chilliwack, BC.

Rose was predeceased by her first husband George Parker in 1974, her infant daughter Cindy Anne in 1962 and her brothers Danny and Herman Dupmeirer. She is survived by her loving partner and constant companion Al Moran and her six children: Gary and Trish Parker, Dennis and Linda Parker, Bob Parker, Wayne and Vivian Parker, Sandy Parker and Rod Svekla, and Paul and Lorette Parker. Rose was a beloved Gramma to David, Kris, Nickie and husband Jeff, Theresa, Brandon, Nicholas and Caitlin and was thrilled to be a Great Gramma to Jordyn and Tyson. She is also survived by her sisters Gert Sicotte, Madeline Girodat, Simonne Golem and brothers Louis and Marcel Dupmeier.

Rose devoted many years of tireless energy to raising her six children while moving throughout Canada and England as a Military wife and mother. Rose met Al in 1978 and they enjoyed traveling across BC to the Prairies in their reliable van, camping, playing cards, visiting family and friends and dancing. She was an avid supporter of Al’s passion for horses and harness racing.

A funeral service will be held on Monday May 7th at 2:00 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place following the service at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Henderson’s Tea Room. Friends are welcome for a visitation on Sunday May 6th, 2007 at Henderson’s Funeral Home from 2-4 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Rose’s memory would be greatly appreciated.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank-you to the paramedics who attended at the family home, Dr. Mallam, and Nurses Susanne and Judy who cared for Rose in the Emergency Department and for the kind and loving care that Rose received from the nursing staff of Nursing Unit 3 and the Parkholm Adult Day Care Program. The family would also like to recognize Dr. Drew Young for his contribution to Rose’s health care throughout the years. A special thank-you to Dr. Scott Markey who provided care above and beyond to Rose for many years and was an invaluable support to her companion Al.
