Ron Neil HUEBNER

Ron Neil Huebner passed away suddenly, accidentally, on March 1, 2004 in Amsterdam, Holland at the age of 44 years. He was born in Edmonton, Alta. on November 25, 1959.

Ron moved to Chilliwack with his family in 1973. After completing high school, he studies Art in Victoria, Halifax, New York and Maastricht in the Netherlands. He was a talented artist, using various media including sculpture and sound.

Ron moved to Amsterdam in 1992, where he continued to work as an Artist. He was the recipient of numerous Canada Council grants and he was awarded the prestigious Paris Studio Award. He had many Art Exhibitions in Canada and Europe, including the Netherlands, Sweden Germany, Belgium and France.

He loved music and played several instruments, primarily the violin and piano. At an early age, he began to write and play his own music. Music and sound were often components of his visual art. Ron lived his life with passion and integrity. He touched the lives and hearts of may people.

Ron will be greatly missed by his family, his mother, Blondine Huebner; brother, Erwin (Judy); sisters, Krista (David) Kilvert and Lorraine Huebner; niece, Kyla Huebner and nephew, Eric Hulme and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many friends.

His father Eric Huebner predeceased Ron.

In Amsterdam, on March 7, 2004, there was a Memorial Gathering of Artists and friends from the Netherlands and around Europe to honour and celebrate Ron’s life.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Mar. 20, 2004 at 1 pm at the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack. Reverend Michael Hare will officiate.
