Roland Melville (Mel) Andress passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Nov. 11, 2002 at the age of 89. Mel was born Feb. 21, 1913 in a humble prairie farm house in the district of Lakeside No. 338 Quill Lake, Saskatchewan.
Mel leaves behind a family which he greatly impacted through the years. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years. He is survived by his four children: Elaine Bunker, John Andress, Doug Andress, Michael Andress; and seven grandchildren: Tammy Martino, Donna James, Cindy Randall, Emily Andress, Todd Bunker, Charles Andress, Kristopher Andress, and great-granddaughter Brenna James. All those who were touched by Mel’s friendship and love are welcome to share in celebration of his life at St. Michael and All Angels Church at Matsqui Village on Nov. 19, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens at 12:00 noon, with a gathering in the Flose Tea Room after the graveside service at 14660 72nd Ave., Surrey, BC.
