Robert-Jan (Robbie) Planje passed away suddenly on December 13, 2010. He was born in the Netherlands (Nederland) and emigrated with his parents and three siblings in 1954 settling in Vancouver.
Robbie moved to Chilliwack in 1967 and took up residence with the family. The family dispersed but Robbie stayed in Chilliwack to become the caretaker of his mother who was legally blind.
Robbie’s mother moved into assisted living at Cascade in 2006 and Robbie moved to Rainbow Estates where he had his own home but still close enough to care for his mother.
Robbie was predeceased by his parents Gerarda and Anton. Robbie is survived by three brothers and one sister.
A celebration of life will take place on January 15, 2011 at 2:00 pm in Chilliwack United Church, corner of Yale Rd. and Spadina Ave.
Robbie loved his toy poodles Mindy and Ella. They had been rescued from a puppy mill.
In lieu of flowers donations in Robbie’s memory may be made to the SPCA and would be appreciated. Robbie is sadly missed by all.
