Robert Joseph hebert

May 17, 2006

We have lost a wonderful Man. A husband, father, son-in-law, brother, grandfather, friend and loved one. Someone who was very brave, strong and endured so much during a lengthy battle with cancer, is now at peace.

Robert passed away peacefully on May 17, 2006, surrounded by his family and he will be dearly missed, forever remembered and treasured.

Robert was born in Montreal, Quebec on March 23, 1936. He was a man with a great sense of humour and enjoyed life with his family and friends. He would have liked us to remember all the good times; he is around us every day and knows that we will see him again. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.

He was a talented, creative cement finisher who worked many years both in Quebec and BC. He enjoyed his job in snow removal at Hemlock Valley Ski Resort and in La Salle, Quebec. In retirement he had rural route delivering The Progress. He had many friends on his route and enjoyed giving the dogs on his route a little treat each delivery day.

Dad enjoyed the Vancouver Canucks, but growing up as a Montreal Canadiens fan. His favourite player was Maurice “the Rocket” Richard, so with that said, in the Montreal Forum locker room it read: “To you with failing hands we throw the torch. Be yours to hold it high.” We pass the torch to you, Dad.

Other words that we describe Dad are: “Positive, considerate hardworking man who put in long hours to provide for his large family.” Thank you Dad. We love you!

A special thank you to Dr. Lisa LeGresley, Dr. Bull, and all the wonderful, caring nurses at the Chilliwack General Hospital.

Mass was held at St. Mary’s Parish at 8909 Mary Street, Chilliwack on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 10 am. A tea followed in the Tea Room at Henderson’s Funeral Home at 45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Chilliwack Hospice House care of The Chilliwack Hospice Society.
