It is with a great deal of sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Frederick Wood. Born on March 11, 1931 in Trenton, Michigan, he passed away peacefully on September 22, 2010 at the Chilliwack General Hospital.

Robert was predeceased by his loving wife Phyllis in 2006 leaving behind is daughter Debra Wood; sons: Alex (Sharron) Wood, and Thomas (Darlene) Wood. He also leaves behind his four grandchildren Joshua, Bradie, Kahlea, Blake Wood, and numerous friends and extended family.

He proudly served his country for 12 years with the Royal Canadian Engineers. He then worked for York Farms later becoming Fraser Valley Foods, before retirement in 1996. He enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren, he also enjoyed playing darts even after he was declared legally blind, he continued playing up to the time of his passing. There are not enough words to express his thanks for the amazing love and support he received from his adopted son Rodney and wife Lillian.

Graveside Service for family and close friends will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Chilliwack Cemeteries, Royal Canadian Legion Section. A Celebration of life tea to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
