Robert (Bob) Barth of Chilliwack, BC passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends in the Chilliwack General Hospital, on January 5, 2009. Bob had struggled valiantly with pancreatic cancer for four months and maintained his humble spirit and his good sense of humour throughout. He was born on February 27, 1942, in Vernon, BC
Bob is survived by his wife BettyLou, his daughter Kim (Nigel) Heywood of Calgary AB, his son Kevin (Jodi) Barth of Cochrane AB, son Kerry (Jennifer) Barth of Comox, BC, and Randy (Pat) Johnson of Ponoka, AB. Grandchildren: Eric, Alex and Ella Heywood; Tyson, Tamara and Savanna Barth; Mariah, Sienna and Bentley Barth; Christopher Johnson.
Bob is also survived by his mother Netta Barth of Chilliwack, sister Marlene (Joe) Peterson of Medicine Hat, AB, and brother Don (Gail) Barth of Surrey, BC and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob is predeceased by his father, Vernon Barth.
A funeral service was held at Valley View Funeral Home on January 8, 2009 at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations could be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
