It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Colin (Bob) Forbes.

Bob died peacefully at his home with family members by his side on Sunday, October 17, 2010.

He is survived by Elsie, his wife of 68 years, sons Bud (Jo-Lynn) of Kamloops and Don (Heather) of Sardis, grandchildren Barbara (Peter), Wendy (Brad), Joanna (Jeff), Jordie (Jennifer), Gary Shannon, (Kyle), and Robin, and seven great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his sisters Phyllis, of Trail, and Heather, of Canmore. He was predeceased by father Robert, mother Paulline, sisters Sheila, Irene, and Jean, and brothers Gordon and Alan.

Bob was born in Banff, Scotland and moved to Trail at the age of three. He received his Bricklayers Apprenticeship at Cominco, then moved to Vancouver where he and Elsie raised their family. He enjoyed golf, and was Grand Master of the Grandview Chapter of the Masonic Lodge in Vancouver. He and Elsie were active members of the Order of the Eastern Star in Abbotsford.

There will be no funeral by request. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
