Robert (Bob) STRANG

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Robert Strang, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.

Robert passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on May 10, 2003 at age 80 years. He was born on October 18, 1922 in Calgary, Alta.

He is survived by Nellie, his loving wife of 52 years; sons, Wayne (Zoe), Ron, Rob, and Brad; daughters, Sue Fleming (Kerry), and Cathy Meeres (Rick); brothers, James, and Johnny; and sister Janie (Scherban). He was greatly loved by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

From the age of 12, Robert learned the trade of carpentry from his father and soon became a skilled craftsman making carpentry his life long profession. He helped to construct many significant buildings in the Chilliwack area and took pride in his work. Robert was a veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Elks Lodge in Chilliwack for many years.

In 1958, Robert and Nellie settled in the community of Yarrow where they raised their six children before moving to Sardis in 1978. He enjoyed spending time with his family and travelling during retirement.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all of the staff at McIntosh Lodge for their excellent care and kindness towards Robert and his family during his time of residence.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at the Vedder View Gardens Cemetery prior to the memorial service.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church on Hocking Ave. in Chilliwack.

If friends so desire, donations can be made to the B.C. Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
