Robert Alexander Martin, born July 22, 1938 in Prince Rupert, B.C., recently passed away peacefully at home at the young age of 67 years.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Stephanie and his son-in-law Chris; his son Randal and daughter-in-law Michelle, his daughter Kristan and his son-in-law Rod, and his son Michael and his daughter-in-law Virginie; his 11 grandchildren, Joshua, Samantha, Alexandra, Sabastian, Danielle, Jordan, Abigail, Hannah, Kylie, Hailey and Audrey; Patricia, the mother of his children; his brother Bill, Ted and sister-in-law Mary-Jean; his sister Betty; as well as many other loving friends and family members.
Bob committed 35 years of his life to the education of children as a teacher and school principal. in the B.C. communities of Prince Rupert, Powell River, Dawson Creek and Chilliwack. He surrounded himself with enthusiastic, energetic and committed educators with whom he shared a passion for teaching and learning. Upon his retirement in 1995 he found great joy in the time he spent fishing, travelling and above all, visiting with his family and friends.
Dad lived large and travelled far but without a doubt his biggest accomplishment was us, his children and grandchildren, who he loved completely and unconditionally with all this strength, every fiber of his body and to the depths of his soul . . he was our dad. Our warm memories of him will reside in the safest places of our hearts forever. The goodness of his soul will stand as his legacy to us as his children and parents ourselves as well as all who survive him.
Celebration of Life was held at Yates Funeral Home, 1000 Allsbrook Road, Parksville, B.C. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at 4 p.m.
