Richard Ole Cookman was taken tragically on August 15, 2008. Richard was born in Mackenzie on June 27, 1984 and enjoyed life in Campbell River, Port McNeill, and Sandspit, graduating from Agassiz Senior Secondary in 2002.
After graduation he attended UCFV for his welding ticket and followed his attraction to the north, living and fishing in Kitimat B, C. becoming a brother Millwright.
Richard understood people, had a zest for life and a demeanor that calmed and attracted all who met him. His bright eyes showed a window into a bright, fun-loving person whom was a joy to be with and brought happiness to all who knew him. He was a precious gift and we take comfort from knowing him and great comfort from loving him. He will be so missed.
