Born in Chilliwack, B.C. Spent his school years first at Rosedale Public School then to St. Mary’s Catholic School in Chilliwack. Graduated from Chilliwack High School. Lived and worked in Vancouver for a number of years.
In the 1970s Rick decided to move to Whistler and carved out a wonderful life for himself and brother Wayne.
Rick’s hobbies were music, hiking, biking and photography.
His deep interest in photography led him to some very famous pictures he produced of Whistler, his love of the mountains, rivers and lakes and the town. There are places named after him in his honour, such as: “Rick’s Roost”, Beverly Lake, and many mountain trails that he mapped out for the district. Rick spent over 30 years living in Whistler and loved every minute.
He leaves behind his Dad Bill Flebbe, brother Wayne Flebbe, deceased mother Ann Flebbe, aunts, uncles, many cousins and dear friends.
Cremation will follow.
