(Aug. 23, 1918 - Jan. 16, 2009)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dick — loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He died quietly in his sleep on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Dick was born in North Battleford, SK and then lived in Saskatoon, Moose Jaw and Regina. He served in the R.C.N during WW2.

He married Margaret in 1945. He later worked for the Saskatchewan government for 40 years, ending up as Chief Boiler Inspector with the Department of Labour. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years. Since moving from Regina, Sk, in 1992, he became a member of St. Thomas Anglican Church, Masonic Lodge Mt. Zion lodge #120 and Cheam golf course.

He started a family golf tournament which took place each year in August and was a highlight of his life. He also enjoyed his Bridge club at the Chilliwack Seniors Recreation Centre Society. He remained a staunch and loyal Saskatchewan Roughrider fan throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved family, his loving wife Margaret or 63 years; his wonderful children: Vance, Ann, Ron, and Bruce; his treasured daughters-in-law, Christine, Wendy, and Alyson; his cherished grandchildren: Jennifer (Nicole), Michael (Sonia), Katherine (Brad), Christopher (Jen), Alix (Geoff), Ian, Robyn, and twins Bronwyn and Aidan as well as his precious “Great-Ones”, Nicholas, Jacob, Emmanuelle, and Claire. He also leaves to mourn his two brothers, Stan and Jack, his sister Mabel and his sisters-in-law Bess, Win and Betty as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Cremation. A family gathering will be held in remembrance.
