Reva Bell cockerill

April 20, 2007

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Reva Bell Cockerill, on April 20, 2007. Reva was born in Jerseyville, Ontario, on November 9, 1923. Reva worked as a telephone operator during the war to earn funds to put herself through nursing school. She majored in Obstetrics in Detroit. Later, Reva and a girlfriend moved to Quesnel, British Columbia, where they took up nursing duties. It was at the nurses residence that she met her future husband Allan, and they courted for two years. During this time Reva became Matron of the hospital.

The bank where Allan was employed moved him several times and he ended up in Trail, British Columbia. Here, Allan and Reva were married in September of 1956.

Reva is survived by her husband Allan of 50 years, daughter Catherine and husband Fabian Charles, one grandson Fabian Allan, and four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Dylan, Emily and Cloey.

Reva’s loving and caring nature blessed her with a wealth of friends. This legacy will live on for many years to come.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
