Rella Lailya Smith Neri late of Chilliwack, formerly of Amherst, N.S., Lynn Lake, Man., Pickle Lake, Ont., Esquimalt, Salmo, and Silver Creek, died December 7, 2002 in Chilliwack at 50 years old, from a neurodegenerative illness. Rella was born in Amherst, N.S., and was raised in Lynn Lake, Man. She had lived in the Upper Fraser Valley for 16 years.
A dedicated homemaker, Rella loved her family and friends. Happiness and friendliness permeated her life as she made everyone feel welcome. She enjoyed spending her time playing group games, cycling, and camping with her family and friends. Rella also enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, bowling, reading, and music.
A memorial celebration will be held March 8, 2003 in Chilliwack at the Best Western Hotel Rainbow Country Inn. Henderson’s Funeral Homes cremated her remains and the family will place a memorial marker at Chilliwack Cemeteries.
Rella is survived by her husband Ramón; three children, Jessé, Leila, and Ramón; siblings, Helen, Gail, Murray, Eugene, Roland, and Dana.
