Raymond Mathias RUSTEN

August 16, 2002

Raymond Mathias Rusten of Chilliwack, passed away peacefully with his family around him Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at Trail Regional Hospital, at the age of 54 years. He was born August 3, 1948 in Cranbrook.

Ray was a wonderful, loving son, father, grandfather, and friend. Despite his pain he always had a happy hello and smile for everyone, unselfishly taking time for his family and friends, making sure everyone was looked after. The generosity of himself and his sense of humour are going to be missed by all.

Lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Kathie; daughter Brandie; son Jeremy; granddaughter Bailey; parents, Deke and Isabelle Rusten of Trail; aunts and uncles, Solveig and Carl Nagel of Trail and their family, and Kay and Ralph Condon of Surrey and their family; and very special friends, Evelyn and Scotty, both of Chilliwack. You’re forever in our hearts.

No service by Ray’s request. Cremation. Private family interment at a later date.

Flowers gratefully declined, those wishing may make a donation in Ray’s name to the Salvation Army.

God saw you getting tired,

When a cure was not to be,

So He closed his arms around you

And whispered, “Come with me.’’

Your smile is gone forever,

Your hand we cannot touch,

All we have is memories,

Of one we loved so much.

He took you to his garden,

And laid you there to rest,

God’s garden must be beautiful,

He only takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,

He knew you were in pain,

He knew you might never

Get well upon this earth again.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

But you never went alone,

For part of us went with you

The day God took you home.
