VOGTS

Ralph

Anne always called Ralph her “Knight in shining armour.”

Ralph passed away peacefully June 3, 2012 at Chilliwack Cascade Hospice after a long battle with cancer.

He was born in Vancouver 1946 and grew up in the city. Shortly after starting his career with the Coca Cola company he had a chance meeting with a lovely young girl just recently arrived in Canada from England. He was immediately smitten with Anne, a feeling that never faded throughout 36 years of devoted marriage.

Anne and her “knight in shining armour” retired to Chilliwack in 1999. Together they volunteered regularly with Community Services Time Out Program for seniors and put in countless hours backstage helping the Creative Outlet Studio with several productions and dance recitals, the most memorable of which may be the gingerbread work of art Ralph created for the lobby display of Sleeping Beauty.

He and his bride enjoyed traveling, cruising to many exotic parts of the world. When at home, Ralph was active in the Chilliwack Dart League and Legion Branch 280.

Ralph is survived by his wife Anne; twin sister Sharon (Walt); sister, Inge (Angelo, deceased); and sister in law, Sheila (Hardy, deceased).

Friends of Ralph and Anne are invited to a celebration of life, 2-4 pm, Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Clover Creek Estates Clubhouse, 7600 Chilliwack River Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chilliwack Hospice Society.
