October 2, 1917 – June 10, 2006

We are saddened to announce the passing of Ralph Belden on Saturday, June 10, 2006, at the age of 88 years.

Ralph is survived by his son, Jim Belden of New Westminster, his daughter Donna and son-in-law Ken Stewart, of Vernon, grandchildren Amy Stewart of Vancouver, Ian and Nicole Stewart and great-grandsons Nathan and Logan of Vernon. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Molly, in 1995.

Ralph served in the Canadian Army from 1939 through 1945, married Molly in 1946 and was actively involved in raising his children through the ‘50s, ‘60s and into the 70’s. Much of his career was spent in the food and hospitality business after serving as a cook during the 2nd World War.

Ralph was a true gentlemen and he carried himself with a sense of pride and caring for those he met. He enjoyed his retirement years and became an accomplished golfer and bowler. Most of all, he enjoyed socializing and dancing. He will be missed by his many friends and acquaintances in Richmond, Sardis/Chilliwack and Vernon.
