June 20, 1933 – Dec. 19, 2008

Mom passed away very peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Cascade Hospice Centre with, Jim, the love of her life for over 58 years by her side.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Jim, sons Gord, Jack, (Trina), Scot, grandchildren Jodie, Greg, Alica (Dave), Brad, Jesse, sister Doris Lang, and brother Roger (Jane). She was predeceased by her daughter Lorraine in 1971, parents Bill and Martha Muir, and brothers Stewart, Doug, and Wes.

Phyllis’ whole life was spent in the Camp River area and so dedicated her time to the community. She was a proud and devoted member of the Camp River Ladies Circle for 58 years. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Chilliwack Health Unit Baby Clinic.

Phyllis and Jim were often found dancing up a storm every Saturday night at the Agassiz Legion and you could find her proudly driving her ’68 Buick around town.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Julia Bright, the nurses on the 3rd floor at the Chilliwack Hospital and the nurses and volunteers at the Cascade Hospice Centre for their care and compassion as well as a special thanks to all her friends, family, and neighbours who came to visit her during her illness. All those visits she received brought joy to her in this difficult time.

A memorial tea will be held at the Camp River Hall on January 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Phyllis’ memory to the Chilliwack Hospice Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
