Phillip Joseph Andrew DESAULNIERS

Phillip Joseph Desaulniers passed away on Thursday, September 13th, 2007 in Chilliwack, BC at the age of 60 years. He was born January 21st, 1947 in Vancouver, BC.

Phil is survived by his wife, Gem; children: Jason (Tanya), Ryan (Tammie); grandchildren: Chantal, Cassidy, Cienna and Jade; sisters: Suzanne, Anne-Marie and Joanne; brothers: Robert and Marcel (Butch). He was predeceased by his parents.

Phil was a good husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He lived life to the fullest there was always a smile and a hug. Phil battled his own illness (cancer) for 18 months and was an inspiration to many with his strength. While he never gave up, he also helped his family and friends prepare for his death.

Phil worked very hard all his life in the Automotive Field. He was a past member of the Kinsman Club of Chilliwack; Charter Member of Simon Fraser University; Played Badminton and Slo-Pitch in both the Mixed and Men’s League and was a Cub Scout Leader for the 2nd Sardis Pack. Phil coached his sons throughout the years in Soccer and Baseball and was always a parent volunteer for any activity.

His wife and children would like to thank the many friends and family who helped throughout his illness, as well as the doctors and nurses who did everything they could to find a cure and to make him comfortable.

A Celebration of Phil’s Life will be held at the Tzeatchten First Nation Hall, 45855 Promontory Rd, Chilliwack on October 6th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a Children’s Charity of your choice or the Chilliwack General Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
