Peter Friesen passed away at the age of 86 years in the Abbotsford Regional Hospital on Wednesday February 4, 2009. He was born in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan and moved to Mission, B. C. in 1941.
He is a veteran of World War II serving three years with the Royal Canadian Air Force.
His employment with Canada Safeway for 41 years, which took him to various locations in the Fraser Valley before retiring in Chilliwack and later moved to Abbotsford in 1988.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis of 64 years of marriage; children: Lynne (Henry) Heidebrecht, Les (Marg) Friesen; Ella (Bill) Born; Carol (Glenn) Nickerson; Dennis (Faith) Friesen; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at LevelGround Mennonite Church (West Abbotsford Mennonite Church), 31216 King Road, Abbotsford, B.C.
