December 16, 1923 - January 30, 2004
Mom lost her long battle with cancer and passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on January 30, 2004.
Born December 16, 1923 in Winnipeg, she spent most of her early years in Victoria. She served with the RCAF(WD) at the 8th Bombing & Gunnery School, in Lethbridge during World War II.
Mom was pre-deceased by her husband John in 1995. Mom missed her sisters, Sadie and Pat, and her brothers, Art and Fred, who also pre-deceased her.
She is survived by her sons Barry (Marty) and Bob (Gloria); grandsons Scott (Amy) and Shane; great grandchildren Morgan, Chelsea, Jake and Tamara.
It’s said a person’s actions speak louder than words; Mom’s have spoken of caring, goodness, love and devotion. What a wonderful difference she made in the lives of the family and friends who loved and knew her. Everyone who knew our Mother, Peggy, will be feeling the emptiness that has been left with her passing. We’re sure that most of us will remember her “Gotta go” attitude and “Don’t waste even one minute, the clock is always ticking”. Most of her time was spent doing things for others (except at 3 PM for “Coronation Street”!). The world will be a lonelier and sadder place without her ever-present strong will and smiling face. She always tried to pass on a little bit of happiness and sunshine to everyone she met. That would be about the best legacy that anyone could leave, so take some time out for memories of our Mom, Peggy; “Smile” and pass it on.
We are hosting a Celebration of Mom’s life for family and friends on Saturday, February 7, 2004, from 1PM to 4 PM at her home in Chilliwack.
