Pastor Henry BOUMA

Pastor Henry Bouma, 75, formerly of Chilliwack, passed away at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, MT., on February 19, 2004.

He was born December 26, 1928 in Corsica, SD. His family then moved to Montana. He served in the US Army in Germany, where he met his wife Paula Jaud. They wee married on August 21, 1954. They farmed at Choteau, MT. for many years and then lived in Washington and British Columbia, where he was active in real estate, land development and was co-owner of Chilliwack Redi-Mix Ltd. In 1972, the Boumas moved back to Choteau, where they have lived ever since. He was pastor of Old Paths Baptist Church for nearly 30 years, and he worked extensively in the mission field here and abroad. He also helped found Gospel Mission Books, where he remained active until his death.

Survivors include his wife Paula of Choteau; children, Louis of Great Falls, MT., Hank (Emily) of Choteau, Norrine (Phil) Kaat of Sheboygan Falls, WI., Barney (Emily) of Choteau, and Karen (Steven) Aichelmann of Propser, TX.; brothers, Peter (Nellie) of Lynden, WA., Herman (Madelyn) of Grand Rapids, MI., Harold (Johanna), and Andrew (Frances) of Choteau, Ralph (Cornelia) of Conrad, MT., and John (Edith) of Sheboygan, WI.; sisters, Ann MacDonald of Choteau, Henrietta (Wulf) Vande Lagemaat and Jennie (John) Luteyn of Chilliwack, and Frances (Larry) Teunisisen of Sheboygan Falls, WI.; and 12 grandchildren.

The funeral was held on February 24, 2004 at Old Paths Baptist Church. Burial with full military honours was in the Choteau Cemetery under the direction of Gorder Funeral Home.
