Aug. 2, 1921 - Feb. 22, 2009

Passed away peacefully at Chilliwack General Hospital, where he was cared for by the Bradley Center for several years, admired by all that knew him. Recently predeceased by his wife Jeanne, with whom he shared a loving 66 year marriage.

Born in Alberta, he was a farmer and a soldier during WWII. He resided in Red Deer, Alberta where he worked for the Alberta Motor Association. Later moving to Victoria, and Pender Island B.C. where he retired, and finally to Chilliwack, where he resided for the last 16 years,

A lifelong consummate musician, he played in many bands big and small in Alberta and BC. With his beloved Violin and Upright Bass, he spent his life providing music and good times to all.

His last group in Chilliwack was The Mellow Aires and they donated much time and talent to seniors homes and shut-ins. His love and devotion for his wife during her illness will not be forgotten.

He is survived by his two sons, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

His strength and kindness will never be forgotten, by all of us and those whom Orval entertained throughout his life.

Memorial service will be at his home on Saturday, March 7th at 2:00pm.
