Nellie Alice CAMPBELL

Nellie Alice Campbell passed away peacefully at the Chilliwack General Hospital on August 25, 2002, one day after her 97th birthday. Nellie was born in Killarney, Man. on August 24, 1905.

Along with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clements, brothers, Roy, and Jim, and sister Eliza, the family moved to Chilliwack in 1912 where they farmed on Gibson Road. Nellie attended Normal School in 1923 and she taught at Ryder Lake and Lotbiniere Schools. She married Carl Campbell and they had three children, Jean, Bob, and Billy. She lived in Chilliwack until her death. She attended the Cooke’s Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Ladies’ Guild, she was very involved in Red Cross work and was a staunch Liberal.

She is predeceased by her husband Carl in 1992; daughter Jean in 1981; and son Billy in infancy.

She is survived by her son Bob (Beulah); son-in-law Mel (Chris) Hunter; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

No service by request. Cremation.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Henderson’s Tea Room on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002 at 2 p.m.

No flowers by request, if friends so desire, donations to the Chilliwack General Hospital ECU would be appreciated.
