Neil (Scotty) Munro Struthers Thomson Sr. passed away at Chilliwack Hospital, October 5, 2002 at the age of 87.
Scotty is survived by Shirley; four sons, John, Bill, Neil, and Andy; six grandchildren; a brother Robert; and sister Betty, both of Scotland.
Neil Munro (Scotty) Thomson Sr. was born August 31, 1915 in Scotland. He served in the Air Force from 1935 to 1945. Spent three years in the Middle East and travelled all over the world including Egypt and Iraq. He worked at many things, mainly a truck driver employed at construction at Hallmark Pulp and Paper building site in Nanaimo, the Fraser Canyon Tunnels, the Coquihalla Highway, and the Grizzly Valley Pipeline. Scotty was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan and was very generous to those in need. He was an active and very strong member of the Teamster’s Union.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 from the chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow in the Royal Canadian Legion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated.
