MCDONALD, Myrtle Stella
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Beloved Mother, Myrtle Stella McDonald (Gislason). She left us peacefully with her daughter by her side, April 5th at 5:33am in Cascade Hospice, Chilliwack, BC at the young age of 76 yrs.
Born in Manitoba, Canada Oct 19th,1940 and moved to BC and the age of one. Myrt lived a full and happy life. She fostered over 20 children in care over a span of 20 yrs, her heart was huge and she took in anyone who needed love and a home. She was a master baker and an excellent cook who loved feeding people. She taught herself to knit, crochet, sew and do needle point all without the help of Google! She was a regular at BINGO and very lucky, winning big jackpots many times only to come home & share it with her family. Myrtle was a generous and loving mom, aunt and grandma and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Survived by her son Darren and two daughters, Tracy & Kelly. Granddaughters Sarah & Madeline as well as many nieces and nephews.
Myrtle was the last remaining of seven children. Predeceased by her parents Sigfus & Malfrieda Gislason as well as sisters. Steinun (DeeDee), Jonasina (Loa), Rasmina (Rassy) and brothers, Henry, Penfold (Penn) and Gestur. Myrtle also lost two husbands before their time, David McDonald and Robert (Bob) Cox.
There will be a Celebration of Life April 30th from 1-4pm at the Coast Hotel in Chilliwack,BC. All are welcome to attend to help celebrate the wonderful women we all loved very much.
