Murray James Edward Apps passed away on June 30, 2006 at Chilliwack General Hospital at age 57 years.

He was born November 11, 1948 in Chilliwack, BC. Murray is survived by his wife Tina Apps; children, Teresa (Jason) Bodo, Trena (Tim) White and Chad (Kathy) Apps; his mother, Marwayne Apps; brother, Wayne (Laura) Apps; grandchildren, Aaron White, Brooklyn Bodo, Kylie Bodo and Kristen Bodo. He was predeceased by his father John Apps, brother, Dennis Apps and sister in law, Joan Apps.

Murray spent 38-plus years working at Dairyland, starting as a delivery driver and working his way up to warehouse manager. In 1981, he founded the Chilliwack Softball Association, coordinating the major adult softball league’s use of diamonds and other needs. Throughout the 70’s and 80’s Murray was a tireless worker, giving his time to adult and youth sports including softball and soccer. In 1983, Murray was chosen “Sportsman of the Year”. Murray could often be found fishing on the Fraser River with Nicky Basok and friends. Murray’s passions were feeding and enjoying the birds and squirrels in his backyard and relaxing at the end of the day with a good book.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday July 7, 2006 from 7 – 9 pm at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 11:00 am at the Chilliwack Alliance Church, 8700 Young Rd; Pastor Peter Vincent officiating.
