Morley H. Ganton

Canadian Forces Veteran and long time Chilliwack resident, Morley Ganton, passed away September 23, 2005.

Born October 9, 1910 in Waskada, Manitoba, he spent his childhood on the family farm in Saskatchewan before moving west. As a partner in Ganton and Walton Jewellers in Chilliwack and then as a math teacher at C.F.B Chilliwack, Morley supported the local community by coaching Junior Ball. He was an avid curler, golfer and an active member of the Oddfellows Lodge. In 2000, he was presented with the Paul Harris award in recognition of his many years of community service.

Morley is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marion; sons and daughters in law, Bruce and Shirley Ganton of Kelowna and Barry Ganton and Meg Fraser of North Vancouver. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Steve (Geri) of Kelowna, Bob (Gabrielle) of San Diego, Tara (Richard) Bullanoff of Trail and Burke (Louise) of Chetwynd, six great grandchildren; Ryan, Jason, Bari, Eric, Erin and Theron and his special niece and nephew Marion Ann West and Brian Walton.

A Memorial service will be held in the near future.
