Mildred Rhoda McPHEE

Mildred Rhoda McPhee passed away on November 14, 2005 at Chilliwack General Hospital. She was born 1928 in Lanigan, SK.

She moved to Chilliwack in 1948 where she worked for 17 years as a secretary for School Dist. 33.

She is survived by her loving husband, Don, who tenderly cared for her through a lengthy illness. She is also survived by sister, Lyla Riemer; brother-in-law, Lindsay (Jan) McPhee; sisters-in-law, Doreen Single and Jeanie Bresch; and many nieces and nephews.

Now she is in the loving arms of her Lord and with family members by whom she was pre-deceased: parents, Olga and Rudolph (Roy) Bresch; brother, Ted Bresch; sister, Olive Wildeman; brothers-in-law, Albert Wildeman and Helmut Riemer and John McQuinn; sister-in-law, Helen McQuinn; and niece, Kathy Riemer

Mildred will be remembered by her many friends from Victoria Avenue Baptist Church where she often sang. She also worshiped at First Baptist Church, Chilliwack, where she sang solo and in the choir, was Envelope Secretary, worked with the Women’s Circle, and enjoyed the fellowship of the 2nd Mile Group, latterly she attended Broadway Church, Chilliwack , where she enjoyed worshiping with friends.

Mildred is known nationally for her wonderful photography. She had many photographs printed in books and calendars. She won a car, a trip to Japan, and countless awards for her marvelous images. This interest was shared by her husband. They met at Chilliwack Camera Club and both were long-time members. She also belonged to the Chilliwack Field Naturalists’.

Mildred’s home was rarely without fresh flowers from her garden. The memory of her hospitality and friendship are treasured by her many friends — both young and old.

A Memorial Service was held on Fri., Nov.18, 2005 from the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, Chilliwack. Rev. Ian Grant officiated.
