Mildred “Millie” (nee Verba) CHADSEY

May 28, 2007

Sept. 10, 1913--May 28, 2007

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

“Millie” Chadsey (nee Verba) Passed away on Monday, May 28, 2007 at the age of 93.

She was born in Coleman, Alberta on September 10, 1913 and moved to BC in 1929, where she eventually met and married Elvin Chadsey, with whom she had five children.

“Millie” was predeceased by her husband Elvin in October 1960, and her son Raymond in June 1997.

She is survived by her son Allan (Mimi), daughter Elva (Ron), son Garry (Lynne), daughter Linda (David), many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

“Millie” bowled for many years. She loved to travel, really loved to dance, and she especially liked to crochet afghan blankets for family members. But most of all she loved to spend time with her family. She had her own five children, but was considered  “Mother” to all of the neighborhood kids.

She will be best remembered for always having homemade bread in the oven, and soup on the stove for family, friends, and fishermen in the cold weather. She will be sadly missed by many, many people.

Her family would like to thank Dr. Paleta and staff at the Bradley Centre (Chilliwack Hospital) for the excellent care and love she received during her final year.

A tea will be held to celebrate “Millie’s” life at the Chilliwack Senior’s Social Centre at 45795 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack (corner of Victoria Ave. and Cook St.) on Saturday, June 9th, 2007 from 2 pm-4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, those who desire can make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
