Mildred Agnes (nee Alexander) PICKETT (MUNRO)

November 7, 2006

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Mildred Agnes (Munro) Pickett, on November 7, 2006 at Eden Rest Home in Chilliwack.

Mom was born July 1, 1926 at Kemma Ranch in Wainwright, Alta. She moved to Rosedale, B.C. in 1946, where she met and married Ray Ronald Munro, in 1947. Mom helped farm the Munro homestead in Rosedale up to and for many years after the death of Dad in 1967. She spent many long and hard years farming with us five children, until 1975, when she met and married Russell Pickett. They lived in Rosedale until 1994, then moved to Enderby, B.C. until the death of Russell in 1997. Mom moved back to Chilliwack for the remaining years of her life. She was a talented seamstress, a great cook, a precise storyteller, with a strong sense of humour.

She was predeceased by her mother and father, Jacee and Lyman Alexander; son Brian Munro; her dear aunt Lolo Maybe; brothers, Donny, Lyman, and Glenn Alexander; and by her first and second husbands, Ray Munro, and Russell Pickett. Mom will be sadly missed by her sons, Jim Munro, and Kevin Munro (Nancy); daughters, Marlene Letkeman (Ron), and Cindy Munro (Whitie Peterson); stepchildren, Larry Pickett, Brian Pickett, Michele Torskey, Penny Nelson, and Bonnie Elmore; grandchildren, Christan Jardine, Ashley Van der Kooi, Andrea Munro, Leevon, Miles, and Austin Peterson; and great-grandchildren, Curtis Jardine, Alyssa, and Chloe Van der Kooi, and Ruby and Shannon Jaager-Jardine.

Memorial service will be held at the Rosedale United Church on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Wainwright, Alta.
