Michael John McRae left us suddenly on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at home in Agassiz, BC.

Michael was born in Chilliwack and raised in Harrison Hot Springs and Agassiz. Michael had a wonderful spirit and loved his family and friends.

He was passionate about music, literature and photography. He was a talented, insightful writer whose works were incredibly poignant. He loved baseball, was an unsurpassable shortstop and as a pitcher threw a 92 mph fastball. He also loved golf and could outdrive almost anyone who played against him.

He excelled in University and was proud of his work in the Cardiac Unit at Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, as well as his work as an officer. Michael’s passing leaves a deep void in the lives of family and friends. His memory will be honoured and treasured and remembered for the beauty he brought to our lives.

Michael leaves to mourn his daughter, Hannah, 3 years; sisters, Jennifer (James) McGregor, Diana (Laird) Munro; parents, John and Andrea McRae; grandparents, Andrew and Cora Mowatt, grandfather, Ernie Faessier; nieces, Grace McGregor, Mary Kate and Nicole Munro and nephews, Matthew and Daniel Munro; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandmother Daisy McRae.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Agassiz United Church, 6860 Lougheed Hwy., Agassiz; Rev. Mary Duncan officiant. Memorial donations in Michael’s name may be made to The DBT Centre of Vancouver, 1681 Chestnut Street, Suite 400, Vancouver, BC, V6J 4M6.
