After a brief stay in hospital & with her family by her side she passed away peacefully Sept 5, 2007.

Maxine was born in St. Amelia,MB & took her schooling in McCreary MB. She worked as a hired girl on farms until her marriage to Elmer Fletcher, July 9,1940. They raised 4 sons & she worked hard, both indoors & out, as a farmers wife. In 1967 the family farm was sold & they moved to Dauphin MB. Maxine worked in the drugstore while there - her 1st paying job after many years. In 1970 they moved to Chilliwack BC where they made many friends & soon all their sons where residing in BC as well.

Maxine worked for Wallace Jewelers until her retirement. In her younger years she was an avid curler, taking in many bonspiels & up to present day loved to watch it on tv - as well as her favorite golfer - Tiger! She & Elmer loved to dance, travel & get together with their sons & their families. She made her annual trip to the prairies, her last being July 2006.

In 2002, after Elmers death Maxine moved to Sidney BC to be closer to some of the family. Here she tried to keep active with walks to town, participating in OAP & family functions.

Maxine was predeceased by her loving husband Elmer of 61 years in 2001, her parents Kate & Paul Ledoux, her brothers Leonard, Leon & Louis & her great grand daughter Alannah Geleta.

Maxine is survived by her 4 sons, Grant (Donalda), Wayne (Lyn), Earl (Terri), Jim (Kareen), 10 grand children, 13 great grand children ( one on the way) & one great great grandchild. Two sisters Wilma & Margaret (Mervyn), many nieces & nephews as well as many good friends.

Maxine was a loving mother, grandmother & friend. She was the rock in the family, loved & admired by all of us. We will miss her very much.
