Mary Noel Wiebe, age 83, passed away in Grand Forks, BC on February 11, 2006. Advanced Alzheimber’s Disease had confined her to care facilities for the past 12 years, most recently Boundary Hospital’s Sunshine Manor.
Born in New Westminster on December 25, 1922, she was an adventurous spirit who joined the Royal Canadian Navy in the mid-1940’s, and later enjoyed rural life in various BC locations, including the Cariboo (Canim Lake), the Nicola Valley (Lower Nicola/Canford), and more recently, the Similkameen Valley (Princeton and Olalla).
Mary was predeceased by husbands, George J. Wiebe, Arthur Mammel, and Albert L. Dover. She is survived by daughters MaryLou Rosaduik (Fred), Margaret Dell (Robin), Marcia Heppner (Rick); son, Kelley Dover; as well as grandchildren Tara and Ken Rosadiuk, Brandon and Wyatt McDonald, Robyn, Mandy and Ryley Heppner. Also survived by step-children Larry Wiebe, Anne Nelson, Ricki Lawrence, Bob Mammel, Jeannie Strahl, Wilma Peters, Marian Pottle, Rose Marie Kennedy and their families.
No service by request. Her creamated remains will be placed in the great outdoors that she so loved, as part of a family celebration of life. Memorial at a later date.
