On February 12th, 2010 Fay Paul passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Chilliwack B.C. She is survived by her loving husband of 48.5 years, Dale, and son Gregg (Janice), daughter Angeli Biegel (Kevin) and son Chris (Sarah) and grandchildren Carly, Sydney, Chelsea, Joshua, Tanner, Jada and Taylor. Also survived by sisters Betty Norris-Ryks (Will), Shirley Norris, Sharon Holtman (Jerry) and Brothers Russell Norris (Lucy) and Donald Norris together with half brothers, AW Norris (Joyce), Mac Norris and Norman Williams (Ev) and half-sisters Rhonda Sawyer, Rhoda Sawyer and Betty Moar ( Robert). She was predeceased by her father Malcolm Norris and mother Mary (nee Smith) and a half brother, Russell, and half-sisters Ethel, Pauline and Esther.

Born in Edmonton, Alta. on June 18th, 1940, she spent her early life in Calgary, followed by a move to Prince Albert, Sask., where she attended PACI followed by a move to Calgary, Alta. to attend Business College and worked as a steno with Mobile Oil and CFCN TV.

She married the love of her life on August 5th, 1961 and her nomadic life began, living in Sydney, Australia, Cooksville (Mississauga), Ont. North Delta, B.C., Singapore and return to Canada and Chilliwack in Sept. 1998.

She was active throughout her life in church, family, sports, (tennis, curling, pickleball, bowling) and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s many sporting activities.

She was actively involved in Women’s Groups, bible studies and earlier in musical groups, choir and a sextet.

Her life was centered on God and family and she never let either down. Her life was a testimony to all who had the fortune to meet her and become friends with her.

She was full of love for life in its fullest and enjoyed travel, was a shopper extraordinaire and had a great flair for turning a house into a home. We will all miss her terribly and remember her forever.

She had a reoccurrence of cancer from 10 years ago and never complained or felt sorry for herself. It was a privilege for family and friends to witness her last few months without complaint and confident that when she left us she would be eternally free from pain and sorrow.

We will be having a Celebration of Life service for her on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Chilliwack Alliance Church, 8700 Young Road, Chilliwack at 1:30 p.m.

The family would like to thank all our friends for their help, prayers and condolences surrounding Fay’s passing.

We would also like to thank Drs. Jacob Oostenbrink, Chilliwack, Devon Schellenberg and Kevin Murphy, Oncologists at Abbotsford and Surrey Cancer Hospitals as well as all the staff at Chilliwack’s Cascade Hospice who provided Fay and the family with special loving care during her last week with us. Also a special thanks to Walid her “boyfriend” nurse for his wonderful care.
